Food deserts, an all-too-common occurrence in our communities, are also a grateful opportunity as an architect to do something about it. Rhythm’s sister company Omness Design teamed up with Center Street Market, with the assistance of a grant, to create a food oasis on the corner of Center and Main Streets in downtown Marion. Utilizing one of the first buildings in downtown Marion, this historic building leaves a noticeable mark from its vintage restored storefront down to its interior that evokes the memory of its old days as a Cigar Shop. However these days, its now able to provide a healthier and fresher option to the Marion area that is now accessible to the public right in downtown Marion.
